We finished the Chicago bonus job around 7pm Friday night. I called my show director and got his ok to miss the weekend performances. This was the last weekend of the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia,Missouri. I called the Twins to see if they still wanted to go.  Yeah I think they really wanted to go as they offered to drive their dad’s new Chrysler Aspen to meet me at the Fair. The Twins have their dads permission to drive the SUV anytime they want to….they don’t drive often, so I was surprised they wanted to drive the 100 miles to the Missouri State Fair at Sedalia.

Saturday morning around 7:30am I found the Twins in the Fair’s Campgrounds. Our greeting kisses were awesome. Some say a greeting kiss has only one function and that is to pave the way for real kisses to follow. So true is our case.We were so happy to be in each others arms again, we could not stop hugging and kissing. I ask if they had any trouble finding the Fairgrounds. They giggled and said yes…. but not after they figured out how to work the SUV’s, GPS Navigation System.  

We did the Carnival rides first. I wanted to win Teddy Bears for Joan and Joann but I could only win one…so I bought the other Teddy bear.hehe They looked so cute with the big Teddy bears. The Teddy Bears were about half as big as the girls.

The Strolling Entertainers were a lot of fun. Turbo the Robot was awesome. We enjoyed The Amazing Anastasini Circus. Aerial fantasy, dog show and other thrilling feats under a Big Top. The Cannon Lady was interesting. She was kidding the Twins about taking her place in the next cannon shot. The Cannon Lady said she could only do 2 shows a day as it was hard on the body. She showed us the black and blue marks on her legs. We visited the Livestock Shows – From Llamas to Draft Horse Hitches, the Rabbit and Poultry Barn, Sheep Pavillion, Swine Barn (smelly place), Cattle and Horses. Now the Twins want Pygmy goats on our farm and they fell in love with the miniature horses and want a pair.hehe  The Beard/Hairy Legs/Ugly Feet Contest was so funny.

We loved Candy Coburn, her signature green guitar, her energetic delivery, great lyrics and a show that rocks. The Twins often sing her song ‘It’s Good To Be A Girl’.
 
Sunday morning we hit the Carnival rides again, before heading home. My sister Ina was canning apples and Rose was adjusting the Combine for Soybean harvest. The Twins helped Ina with the canning and I worked on the Combine with Rose. Rose said the 800 acres of soybeans were ready for harvest. In a few hours the combine was ready. The big wagon was made ready for hauling soybeans as was Rose’s truck. We load up while the big 14 wheeler is unloading. I helped the girls pick apples. Our three Blue Tick Hounds were wanting someone to play with them. They each had a apple in their mouth and would drop it and chase it down the small hill. I wrestled and played with them for a while. Rose and the Twins stayed overnight so we could get a early start with our big harvest adventure.

The harvest went well. Hard work … but a lot of fun. We finished up at 6pm Tuesday. So I have sold my first Harvest….so I guess I’m a farmer now.lol. Rose was right about the yield. We got close to 45 bushel per acre. I stored some soybeans for seed and livestock feed. Now I find out the government provides large subsidies for farmers that produce grains,particularly corn and soybeans.  Got to check this out.hehe

I have this week off, with pay, from my construction job. After a bonus job we get a week off with pay or we can work and get double pay. I think the Twins and I will do a lot of skydiving and take several private Pilot classes per week.

Our Friends lil Bit and Joan are 20 weeks pregnant. Their doctor performed ultrasound to confirm that the placenta is healthy and attached normally and that the baby is growing properly in the uterus. The twins wanted to visit lil Bit and Joan and sing to the babies.
We watched the Ultrasound clips on their computer. The baby’s heartbeat and movement of their bodies, arms and legs could be seen on the ultrasound. The doctor said lil Bits baby was a boy and Joan’s baby a girl. The Twins were so excited watching the ultrasound clips…they hugged me and said they would be like that is a little less than a year. At 26 weeks the doctor will do 4D Ultrasound and we can see the babies make faces and touch their face with their hands and really put on a show for us. lol. Lil Bit and Joan are in good health and feeling good and you can feel happiness ebb and flow from them. I’m in awe of the whole process. The twins talked and sang to the babies for hours. The doctor said the babies ears are fully operational by now. The babies are big enough for the girls to feel fluttering or quickening movements when the babies are awake.Lil Bit and Joan loved all the attention and I bet the babies liked the tummy talk too. lol.
